Parking Lot Procedures

  1. Please remember that students that are on the front steps before 8:00 am are not supervised. Please let your child know to stay by the steps. Students are not allowed to be on the playground without an adult.

  2. Teach your child to make eye contact with the driver of a parked car before walking in front of it.

  3. As soon as your child has left the car s/he should pass in front of your car and go all the way to the west side (closest to the building) before walking to the door of the building. This is the safest place for students to walk. If a Crossing Guard is out s/he may have them cross behind, that is okay.

  4. If you choose to park, please walk your child in. All children and adults should follow this path for coming in and out of the building.

  5. During dismissal, if you choose to walk up to the building, please continue towards the playground and use our side door. Students will only be dismissed through the side doors for families choosing to park and walk up.

  6. There should be four lanes of cars during dismissal and two lanes of cars during drop-off.

  7. Arrival: The first entrance is for parking only. Please DO NOT stop in this lane during drop-off. It must be kept clear for church staff and parents that are parking.

  8. Dismissal: The first entrance can be used to go into the fourth lane. Under no circumstances may the street or driveway be blocked.

  9. Please do not ever block the first driveway. This is a shared entrance with the church and must be kept clear.

  10. Slow down and watch for people walking.

We are always looking for volunteers to help as crossing guards. This is a perfect job for a couple parents to take on. Volunteers could work together or alternate days they are here.
