Welcome to the Portland Arthur Academy Charter School!
I am thrilled to be the principal of Portland Arthur Academy. Not only have I been a classroom teacher, I have also had two of my children go through our programs. As a parent, teacher and principal at Arthur Academy I cannot express how grateful I am to be a part of this close-knit community where our staff is dedicated to our students, families and teaching method.
We have about 180 students and aim for 25-30 students per class. As you explore our website you can read more about Direct Instruction (DI), the teaching method that our schools are founded on. We also offer PE and Music, along with Social Emotional Learning. We work to not only teach the foundational academic, developmental and emotional skills needed to be successful at the next stage of life, we also ensure that each student knows that we see them, we love them, and we appreciate who they are.
We work with our families and others to create partnerships to support our school community. We have school fundraisers that require a lot of parent involvement to make happen. Through these events we earn the funds to add more technology to the classrooms, have assemblies, run and manage our library and much more! We always need more volunteers to make it all come together!
Please contact me with any questions you may have. Talking about my school is one of my top favorite topics!
